On March 25, 2017 I had the most life-like, powerful prophetic dream I have ever had. And, completely unlike all of my other prophetic dreams, which I have always had just upon awakening, this one took place in the middle of the day. Why is this significant? I have an ongoing struggle with insomnia, due to physiological deficiencies that make sleep difficult at night–easily taking five to six hours just to fall asleep– and impossible during the day.
I had just finished with a season of prayer. I was throwing in a load of dirty laundry, minding my own business, when I distinctly heard, “Did you know that there is an open heaven over the church right now?” Knowing God was eluding to a change in the spiritual atmosphere, I said, “What is an open heaven?”
As soon as I asked this, I suddenly became extremely fatigued–so fatigued I was immediately driven to my bed to lay down! As soon as my head hit the pillow I instantly fell into a deep sleep. Directly, I was plunged into a prophetic dream. This dream would soon become a vision, wherein I would see, and overwhelmingly experience, the last great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and reaping of the end-times harvest just prior to the return of Christ!
In my dream, I found myself asleep in a top-floor apartment situated in a huge apartment complex. Fast asleep, I was rudely awakened by a man’s loud voice! He was outside in the back yard, shouting relentlessly! Laying there, annoyed, I mumbled for him shut up so I could go back to sleep. However, he just kept on shouting and shouting!
Finally, I got up and went out to the balcony to see what was going on, only to see hoards of people sitting on their balconies and in lawn chairs on the grass! They were gathered together in droves, hearing the man and receiving his wise instruction. I took note that he was another neighbor, just an ordinary person, when I finally realized exactly what he was shouting: He was preaching and teaching the Message of the cross with boldness and power!
He was also addressing some type of “betrayal” or “dark deception” that was fed to the American people— an “announcement” of some sort it seemed– televised over media. I saw a political figure flash across a television screen who had now taken charge, seemingly globally. I was aware that there were various chaotic and disheartening events occurring, which had forever changed America as we had known it. The droves of people who were assembled, however, were operating in God-given discernment; They knew the population was being deceived. Now it was up to us to step up to the plate and take action, based on what we knew was REALLY going on.
In other words, what was occurring in the world created a turning point for us, too, by eliminating any option for status quo Christianity. We were now stepping up, going all the way, and taking a bold stand for Christ, regardless of the cost.
Then the story behind the gathered crowd was revealed: It was made up of many people who were saved and fully surrendered to Christ, AND a larger number that had not yet surrendered to Christ as Lord, many of which had already heard the Gospel but had been “sitting on the fence”, so to speak. It was the turning events and the “announcement” made to the American people that pushed them over the edge to go all in for Christ.
Importantly, everyone I was seeing in the dream were “average Joes”, including the preacher, the faithful, and those who were appropriately responding to the Gospel. Each one had been being prepared by God, all along, “for such a time as this.” Many were being prepared to hear, receive and obey the Gospel, while the “faithful” were being prepared to “instruct many”. This “faithful” group had long suffered through many deep trials and afflictions in their “wildernesses”, walking through them alone with the Holy Spirit. These “sufferings” had refined them and humbled them. As well, they equipped each of them with specific wisdom and knowledge “for such a time as this.” They had not necessarily understood that what they were going through was preparing them “for such a time as this”, but NOW THEY KNEW! Now, these “average Joes” were stepping out to operate in and release their God-given gifts and assignments. The key verse given to me in the dream that related to this group, was Daniel 11:32-35:
“By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action. Those who have insight among the people will give understanding to the many; yet they will fall by sword and by flame and by captivity and by plunder for many days. Now when they fall they will be be granted a little help, and many will join them in hypocrisy. Some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge and make them pure until the end time; because it shall still come at the appointed time.
At this point, something magnificent began to happen: I felt the Glory of God absolutely blanketing the earth! The Spirit of God was being poured out upon ALL FLESH, as prophesied in Joel 2:28-31! This was revival like the earth had never seen! We did not have to press into the presence of God just to get a “taste”, like usual. No! God’s power and glory were literally being poured out on us in buckets!!! I saw hoards of regular, “average Joe” Christians being powerfully used to preach the Gospel, signs and wonders following! These were not famous preachers and evangelists with big pulpits– not by any means! They were regular, every day people whom the world would never take a second look at, but whom God was using to do the same works that Jesus did when He walked the earth!
The best part of the dream was this: While I was seeing all of this and EXPERIENCING the Glory as if I were there in the future, I knew Jesus was reaping the last great harvest of souls— and that He WAS ON THE VERGE OF RETURNING! I can’t explain the excitement and anticipation I felt, knowing we were about to see our Lord and King before our very eyes!
When I woke up minutes later, I still felt the outpouring of the Holy Spirit lingering all over me! In fact, the Glory was so incredibly overwhelming that I was literally in tears!
While arising from my “nap” and getting out of bed, in my mind’s eye I clearly saw Joel 2:28-31 as if written on a television screen:
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophecy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the terrible day of the Lord come.”
I ran to tell my husband all about the Glory that was getting ready to be poured out, excited that WE were going to EXPERIENCE it! It took me probably 30 minutes just to calm down, to stop crying and to regain my composure!
Alignment with Heaven’s Open Window
The next morning God spoke to me, explaining that there was something I would need to do in order to be used to reap the harvest during the end time outpouring of the Holy Spirit:
“If you want to be a participant in the last days outpouring of the Spirit, instead of a mere spectator, there is something you must do: You must align yourself with the “open window.”
Then He quoted Hebrews 12:1-2:
“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: Who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Here is a brief summary of what God revealed to me regarding “aligning ourselves”, tying into the “average Joe” theme in the dream.
First, what is an “open heaven”, and what does it have to do with revival?
The answer is found in Matthew 3:13–17. When Jesus came up out of the water after being baptized by John, the “heavens opened” and the “Spirit of God descended and remained upon Him”. At the same time, the Father was affirming His favor on Jesus, proclaiming, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”
When we align ourselves with Jesus and His character, we are aligning ourselves with His open window.
In Joel chapter 2 the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is described as pouring out upon all flesh, male and female, young and old. However, I acutely sensed the Holy Spirit drawing my attention to a specific category: “servants and handmaidens”, defined in Strong’s concordance as “bond servants”.
Bond servants are those who love their masters so much that they pledge to remain their faithful servants forever, by “piercing their ear” with an awl at their master’s door post. Simply put, male bond servants and female handmaidens of the Lord are true Christians, as described in the Bible: Those who are committed to waiting upon and obeying Christ’s every desire and command, no matter the cost. Their motivation? Love and gratitude for His sacrificial love for them, demonstrated on His Cross.
Jesus Himself, our Lord, was a “bond servant” to His Father, who’s “ears were pierced” (Psalm 40:6-8, Isaiah 50) and Whose “meat was to do the will of the Father.” (John 4:35, 5:30). Though He was God incarnate, Jesus “emptied himself” of all reputation, (always pointing to the Father), humbled himself and became a servant. He was ever obedient to the Father, even unto the painful and humiliating death of the cross. (Philippians chapter 2)
Jesus’s example shows us that bond servants are simply not about themselves at all. Why is this the prerequisite for revival? It is only those who are “emptied” of self that the Holy Spirit can fill— and gloriously use.
While the Holy Spirit is attracted to the humble in spirit, He is absolutely repelled by, (and resolutely opposes), pride and rebellion. (1 Peter 5:5) There will be no revival without wholehearted repentance:
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is holy; I dwell in a high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15)
The “average Joes” that were repeatedly emphasized in my dream were none other than repentant, humble, and surrendered [bond] servants of the Lord Jesus Christ! Their brokenness was a result of their being tested, humbled and deeply refined through their unusually severe trials in the “wilderness” which they had submitted to, so accurately described in Deuteronomy 8:2-3.
As an example of a humble vessel, consider the type of vessel Divinely chosen to conceive, to birth and to raise the Messiah. Only a humble vessel would be fit to bear the Son of the Highest.
Listen to the humility in Mary’s words:
Responding to Gabriel’s announcement of her miraculous conception of the Messiah by the Holy Spirit, she said, “Behold the handmaiden of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” (Luke 1:38).
Later she exclaimed,
“My soul does magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath showed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things and the rich he hath sent away empty. He has holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, (as he spake to our fathers) to Abraham, and to his seed forever.” (Luke 1:47-55)
Timing of the Outpouring Getting Close
Interestingly, when I had this dream in 2017, my husband and I did not live in an apartment. We owned our own home and had no plans to move. In fact, I thought it strange that in the dream we were living in an apartment. In 2019, however, God suddenly urged us to sell our home and move to another state. We obeyed. Caught up in all the hustle and bustle of selling, moving and apartment hunting, the dream was the very last thing on my mind! A few months later, as I stood looking around, it suddenly hit me… We were living in an “upstairs apartment” equipped with a “balcony”, located in a “huge apartment complex”— the same exact conditions depicted in my dream! This was when I realized that we are living in the “season” of the End-time Outpouring I saw in my dream!
Don’t Miss the Glory!
Several months after I had the dream, I was blessed with a second foretaste of what is coming! One morning in prayer, it fell upon me again– in the form of Resurrection Power! In my spirit I saw dead things regenerating and coming to life– from dead spirits, to dead bodies, to dead cells, to dead dreams! Nothing was omitted. Everything it touched, lived! I saw bodies being healed, captives being set free, and backslidden Christians returning to God!
No doubt, the first book- of-Acts church radically changed the world. However, God is saving the best for last! The true Church of Christ is in no way going out in a weak, emaciated condition. It is going out in such Power and Glory that the world will have no question that JESUS REIGNS and that HIS SHED BLOOD HAS NEVER LOST IT’S POWER!!!
The last great Outpouring of the Holy Spirit of God is so close you can literally smell it in the air. It’s time to seriously seek the Lord, positioning ourselves in prayer and Bible study, drawing intimately close to Him—seeking Him until He rains righteousness upon us! After all, it is “those who do KNOW their God” that shall “be strong and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32) If we allow ourselves to be distracted? We will miss the Glory–leaving us mere spectators rather than participants in the last great in-gathering of the end-of-days harvest!
To be ready to move with God in the Spirit we cannot be caught up in the flesh. Now is the time to carefully lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets us, cutting ties with all ungodly attachments– and consecrate our lives entirely to Him. Jesus laid down His life for us (the joy set before Him), despising the shame but enduring the cross– and is set down at the right hand of God. Now, WE must lay down OUR lives for HIM so He can use us to set OTHERS free. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus–our Prize– Who is worthy of all that we have and all that we are.
Is it an accident that you and I are alive during this most exciting time in world history? Not a chance! This generation has been specifically created and placed here for “such a time as this”!
